Research Tracks

IRCONS 2024 welcomes abstracts consistent with the conference theme and research tracks including the following:

Leadership and Governance

Nursing leadership and governance are intertwined concepts that play a crucial role in shaping the profession and ensuring high-quality patient care. Understanding their background requires analyzing various aspects, including complex healthcare settings, focus on patient safety and quality, nurse empowerment, and engagement.

Technology and Digital Health

The future of nursing technology and digital health holds immense potential. Continued innovation promises to revolutionize its current landscape (data-driven insights, automation, and AI-powered tools) while, at the same time, addressing challenges and opportunities such as integration and interoperability; data privacy and security; digital literacy and skills gap; equity; and access to digital tools.

Care Delivery and Patient Experience*

The evolving landscape of healthcare demands continued research and innovation in both care delivery and patient experience. Key research areas to explore include personalization and patient-centeredness, addressing health disparities and equity, measuring, and improving patient experience and integration of research findings into practice and policy.

Nursing Education and Workforce Development

The future of nursing education and workforce development hinges on collaborative efforts to address emerging challenges and capitalize on new opportunities. Therefore, investing in a well-educated, diverse, and adaptable nursing workforce, is essential in ensuring delivery of high-quality, equitable care. Among possible research areas in this track include curriculum development and pedagogical approaches; addressing the nursing shortage and workforce retention; and enhancing diversity and inclusion in nursing.

Public Health and Population Health*

The ever-evolving healthcare landscape demands continuous research and innovation in both nursing education and workforce development. Hence, leverage on the combined strengths of public health and population health is critical in shaping a future where everyone can achieve their full health potential. Given the dynamic nature of these fields; diverse research avenues such as: social determinants of health; global health challenges; chronic disease prevention and management; and health policy and advocacy hold immense potential.

*Accepted papers from this track may be selected for publication in the Journal of Social Health- The official journal of the University of Santo Tomas Research Center for Social Science and Education.
