About the Conference

The healthcare landscape is facing unprecedented challenges driven by a myriad of factors, such as the rising healthcare costs, aging population, increasing burden to chronic diseases, and expanding healthcare complexity due to technological innovations. Amidst these complexities, nurses have been viewed as a powerful yet underutilized human resource and capital to catalyze change. Their unique blend of scientific expertise, patient advocacy, and holistic understanding of healthcare systems makes them natural architects of a transformed healthcare future.

It is believed that the traditional healthcare hierarchies limited their voices and restrictive regulations impeded their abilities and potentials. However, with the growing recognition on nurse’s value in the workforce, coupled with advancements in technology and evolving healthcare models, nurses are in better positions to maximize their capabilities and seize opportunities.

Transforming healthcare using the nursing knowledge requires a multi-pronged approach such as Investing in education and training, Empowering nurses through policy changes and Promoting research and innovation, among others. Hence, establishing future directions in nursing education and practice warrants policy and practice change to realize nurse’s role and actualize their full value in transforming healthcare.

The International Research Conference for Nursing Students (IRCONS) 2024 with the theme “Leveraging Nursing Knowledge toward a Transformed Healthcare” is a research conference that serves as a platform toward the achievement of a transformed healthcare.
